29th July 2010 Press release 24/4/09: Partnership seeks local views on the future of the Cuckmere Estuary
24 April 2009
The Cuckmere Estuary Partnership – a coalition of local councils and national environment and heritage bodies – is calling for residents and businesses to get involved and have their say about the future options for the Cuckmere Estuary.
The Partnership will be hosting a series of public engagement meetings, launching an online survey and canvassing the views of locals and visitors through a written questionnaire. The consultation will begin in early June and run through to the end of July.
Partnership Officer Kate Cole said: “We know that sea level is rising, and that this will affect the Estuary. We want to listen to the views of residents, local businesses and visitors to find out how they feel the change can best be managed. “
Meetings will be held in Alfriston, Seaford and Eastbourne, and the online survey will be launched on the Partnership’s website at www.cuckmere.org.uk. Anyone interested in getting involved should contact the Partnership on 01323 874303, or email info@cuckmere.org.uk.
