This website has been set up by the Cuckmere Estuary Partnership, a coalition of local councils, heritage and conservation agencies who are committed to ensuring a sustainable long-term future for the estuary.
The members of the Partnership are:
- The National Trust
- Seaford Town Council
- Natural England
- The Environment Agency
- The South Downs Joint Committee
- East Sussex County Council
- Wealden District Council
- Owners of the Lower Coastguard Cottage
Change is inevitable, and the Partnership believes that working with nature rather than against it is the best option for the estuary. We believe that the change can be managed to preserve what it important about the estuary and benefit tourism, wildlife, access and recreation.
We want to explore all possible options. Our aim is to work together with the community to agree and develop the best possible outcome, and to then attempt to find the funding to make it happen.
